Marjorie de Muynck 1952–2011

Marjorie de Muynck, Master of Music in Music Education, was the creator of Ohm Therapeutics Sound Healing, a system that features the healing resonance of Ohm through music, sound healing instruments, and the voice. A founding member in 1987 of the world-touring Billy Tipton Memorial Saxophone Quartet, and a composer for the film Crocodile Tears, Marjorie had a rich background as a musician and composer. She also studied under the tutelage of Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, who encouraged her to pursue her music while exploring the healing arts. Marjorie's gifts as a musician and healing arts practitioner merged perfectly in the field of Sound Healing, where she created several new healing modalities.

In 1996, Marjorie codeveloped the Acutonics® Sound Healing System. She coauthored the textbook There’s No Place Like Ohm, Sound Healing, Oriental Medicine, and the Cosmic Mysteries. A faculty member at the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle for six years, Marjorie taught Shiatsu, Hara Diagnosis, kundalini yoga, Reiki, and Acutonics. She also codeveloped a healing treatment called Harmonic Attunement®, which incorporates using cosmically tuned symphonic gongs, tuning forks, didgeridoos, Tibetan bowls, and bells. She studied oriental medicine at the Southwest Acupuncture School in Santa Fe, and explored the voice as a powerful healing instrument with vocalist and sound healer Madi Sato.

Marjorie recently completed her new book Sound Healing: Vibrational Healing with Ohm Tuning Forks, with an instructional DVD demonstrating the use of Ohm tuning forks. Marjorie began her intriguing journey pioneering musical works in the key of Ohm in 1999. She published two additional records in the key of Ohm: There’s No Place Like Ohm, Volumes 1 and 2.
