Description

Music touches our hearts and resonates within our bodies. The right music can truly renew us, helping us feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Great musicians have always recognized this therapeutic power of music, and researchers are finally proving them right. The Sound Medicine Series features the works of inspired musical pioneers who are exploring music’s healing power.

Music for Unwinding was created by music therapist and award-winning musician Dr. Joseph Nagler. Composed using specific tempos, rhythms, and pacing, and performed by an ensemble of world-renowned musicians, these soothing melodies will free you to unwind and let go of the stress at the end of the day. Piano, violin, percussion, saxophone, flute, guitars, and bass all create a lush blend of deeply relaxing music that will peacefully resonate within your body.

Joseph Nagler, DA, CMT, is a musician, composer, and a certified music therapist who received his doctorate from New York University. He is an associate professor of music at Queensborough College, and was the co-director of the Center for Research in the Arts & Medicine at New York University’s Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Nagler has released several recordings including Music for Rejuvenation and Musical Massage: Synergy.
