I am so glad to have this opportunity to talk about this wonderful program by Joseph Goldstein. Please note, there are 3-volumes and also you may buy the book (that Joseph refers to in his discourse): Satipatthana: The Direct Path to Realization by Analayo (A German Monk). The 3-volumes and the book, in my experience, will give you an in depth transmission of this Buddhist teachings. I listened to the three volumes a few years back...when they first came out and read the book page by page. I had to wait with eagerness to the 3rd Volume to come out. The book (you don't have to get it) a lucid scholarly yet down-to-earth explanation of the material on Satipatthana). I recently started re-listening to the CD's and love them even more. Joseph Goldstein is an excellent teacher and is also lucid in his explanations. I listen over and over until I "get" all points and then I feel satisfied and move on to the next disc.
I recommend that you take on this project and treat yourself to these teachings. Bottom line Abiding in Mindfulness - Satipatthana - really shows us how to surpass our judging mind and conditioning. That is a basic that we all need to move through in order to start transforming, healing, learning and growing. Judgment is what keeps us from progressing. Also, understanding is transformative.. therefore, if you listen to these over and over until you "get" it... then something within you shifts... that's the understanding. I love this program so much and have benefited from it, that I am grateful to share it with you. They have a discount on all 3-volumes, I would rush to buy them and grab this opportunity. All the best.
