This has been the most helpful work I have come across - for my own personal journey and work as an addiction counselor. I am so grateful for Tara's wisdom, genuineness and love the stories. Have already been passing some of them on to clients where helpful. Many thanks Tara and Sounds True!

Educational, Compassionate, Caring, Inspiring, Humorous, Engaging

I am recovering from depression and had no interest in meditation or psychology until I began my healing journey three years ago. While this live presentation was originally aimed at psychotherapists, I found the recording to be affirming, inspiring, and educational for me. It helped me better understand how I can incorporate my meditation practice into my journey of healing, recovery, wellness and personal growth.

As always, Tara speaks with deep sincerity, and her compassion, kindness, and love shine through in the humorous and often personal stories that she uses to illustrate her points. Although the title might cause you to think that this will be an impersonal and clinical presentation that is not so. Tara's presentation carries all of the personal, calm, soothing and spiritual warmth that I find present in her other recordings. I don't know if this was intentional to help the therapists internalize what she was saying in a deeper way, or if this is just how Tara is all the time. I like to think a bit of both but more of the latter.

This is a recording that I highly recommend for anyone with a regular meditation practice who is on a healing journey and has reached a point where they want to know more about how meditation might help them. I would also recommend this to someone who is skeptical about incorporating meditation into their healing, but who has some understanding of therapy and is seeking direction. For such people, Tara does an excellent job of framing meditation in terms of western medical knowledge and in the context of western psychotherapy. This is not a recording for those seeking to start a meditation practice or who are seeking immediate guidance to help them through deep suffering. There are many other recordings for such purposes, including many by Tara.

I find this recording unique in that it is aimed solely at therapists, and yet is of value to a much wider audience. The sound quality is good, and I expect to listen to this recording whenever I feel a need to strengthen the connection between my meditation practice and whatever else I am doing for healing, recovery, well being, and growth.

Thank you to Tara for giving such an exceptional and needed course tor therapists, and to Sounds True for making a good quality recording, editing the week-long course into this purposeful and engaging recording and making it available.

I love this CD set. I've been listening to it slowly over the last month. and I'm loving digesting it in small pieces (I'm on CD #5 of 6, and I'm sure I'll be enjoying replaying it in the future). There's a lot of wisdom in these disks, and it's presented in a straight-forward, approachable manner that is tremendously helpful.

This is an extremely useful and informative presentation of mindfulness and psychotherapy. As a current psych major and long-time meditator I have been interested in exactly how mindfulness can play into the psycho-therapeutic process, in a practical hands-on way. I have found this to be a wonderful resource; I felt that I was actually attending a conference with Tara.

I especially enjoyed the meditations that are interspersed into the lectures, as well as the personal examples given. They helped to reinforce and integrate the intellectual understanding.

To Sounds True customers I would recommend as a good complement to this teaching Kristin Neff's "Self Compassion Step by Step."

Thank you Tara, Thank you SoundsTrue.
This has been so enormously helpful - there are no words... not only is it very practical and wise help for the counselor in relationship to the client, but in teaching us how to engage compassionately and mindfully reaches out and pulls us so much more deeply into our own practice and helps us engage ourselves with so much more wisdom and compassion...
Again, thank you.

I am really enjoying this course and finding that it helps validate, expand and guide my use of mindfulness practices in my clinical work. I also like that the download comes with a PDF file as a table of contents to the audio files.

This is an excellent presentation on the use of differing meditation practices in professional practice. I also personally enjoyed it - an added bonus. It's one that I'll listen to repeatedly. Thanks for a great audio learning experience.
