Customer Reviews for Living the Lakota Way

I am so happy I purchased this. The author speaks as if you were with him at a kitchen table. Very simply, very humbly. Sometimes you wonder where he is going with what he says, but then you find yourself with almost tears in your eyes, but at the same time very uplifted and inspired. Everything he says, though it applies to the Lakota, can be applied to anyone's life. I did not know much about Native Americans before I purchased this recording and at first had wondered how much I would be learning considering how much Native Americans have been forced to lose of their culture over the years, but I learned a lot. The author has integrity. He acknowledges when he does not know and he shares what he knows, or the meaning of experiences that his ancestors or family members went through. I highly recommend this recording. You will not regret it. Certain parts of this recording of course broke my heart, what the Native Americans Lakota went through, and how they suffered but even those parts are told in a manner that is factual, of course difficult, but not depressing, The author just has the right narrative tone. You can see the tragedies but you can also see the triumph of the human spirit and you cannot help but being inspired by the example of the Lakota and wanting to apply it in your own life. I did listen to this recording very attentively though. Not doing anything else. Just laying down and listening. Maybe this is another reason why I got so much out of it. Very deep, very deep. The impact of this recording will carry in your own life.
