David captures the essence of the experience "in God" in words that are difficult to capture with such a highly experiential message. I recently had the pleasure of attending his Sacred Heart workshop in Rancho Bernardo, CA. In person, he is a gentle, soft spoken man with a message of humor, compassion and inner peace. His book is filled with inner wisdom and should be on every "contemplatives" shelf.

Excellent book for the both the new-comer and informed practitioner of Centering Prayer. David has done a thorough overview of the topic and giver many examples of how to develop a deeper relationship with the Devine.

The practice tips in this book are so plentiful and helpful that my practice has been renewed and I believe that I am making progress again after living through a long plateau.
