This 4-CD pack has a 40-minute Body Scan that is exceptionally well done, a 40-minute Standing Yoga practice that is specifically tailored to people who get very little exercise or who suffer with chronic pain, a 40-minute Lying Down Yoga practice that is like the Standing in terms of difficulty. There is a 45-minute guided mediation as the fourth disc. This is not broken up into smaller time frames for beginning meditators so one has to work with it, but the material is perfect, especially if you are practicing Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.

This man’s inspirational work is a true gift to the world. I began practicing Series 1 about 2.5 years ago, and it has totally changed my life for the better. Later I bought Series 2 and 3, as well as some of his other CDs and books, and I use/follow them pretty much every day. I can’t tell you what a positive difference they have made to my life. I would highly recommend them to anyone, but especially anyone who is a bit wary of the “woo-woo” aspect of meditation. He is very down to earth and practical – his kind of mindfulness, like that of the other great practitioner teachers like Thich Nhat Hanh, is as much about how you take out the garbage, speak to the waiter or sales clerk you deal with, or operate at work as it is about finding “enlightenment” or “oneness with the universe”. In fact these are things that happen naturally in their own time/way if you pay more of the right kind of attention to yourself in your daily life. For anyone who might think this “mindfulness” stuff is just another money-making fad, have a listen to Jon Kabat Zinn and give it a go. I doubt you’ll be sorry. (PS I’m not his publicist – I live in Australia and have never even seen or heard the man in the flesh, only on the internet – I’m just someone whose life his work has impacted in the most positive and wonderful way.)

It think this is a great program... I find the the body scan meditation really helps me to relax and helps me be more calm.. I also love the yoga meditation which is done on the floor. It stretches, strengthens, and helps me to let go of stress.

This is one of the best and comprehensive programs I have ever used. It is very well thought out and helps guide you through sitting and standing yoga, meditation and a body scan. It is so easy to use and follow. His voice is very soothing, peaceful and wonderful to listen to which is important when you are trying to meditate or relax. This course is also helpful for those suffering from anxiety or depression. If someone is suffering from depression I would also highly recommend "The Mindful Way Through Depression".

For me personally the Body Scan Meditation on Disc 1 is the best guided meditation I have heard. I know it is many years since Jon Kabat-Zinn first developed this but he does it so well, with so much understanding and warmth. It also correlates well with Eckhart Tolle's "going into the body" approach...and he is undoubtedly the best contemporary teacher today.
