Emmy award-winning performer, educator, and composer, Jim Oliver has been creating music for massage and healing for over 30 years. Jim's recordings are the result of researching the most nurturing and healing music qualities. His work has been a consistent favorite among massage therapists, body workers, and health professionals. Jim's music is used by medical facilities across the country in the areas of labor and birthing, pain management, stress management, and wellness.
Jim began studying music at age five. He attended the Hartt College of Music, West Hartford, Connecticut, where his studies included classical organ, composition, and orchestration. His formal music study is evident in his beautifully orchestrated musical works. Jim has created live and recorded music for John Bradshaw and Brugh Joy. He has also been the composer-in-residence at Robert Redford's Sundance Institute.
Jim has given numerous performances nationally and internationally. He has recently presented seminars and performed in concert at the Arizona State University School of Music Therapy and at the National Convention of the American Music Therapy Association. Jim also played live music on keyboards in various hospital units, and performed in concert at the Desert Samaritan Hospital in Mesa, Arizona. He is currently working with many hospitals to provide music for their operating rooms, chemotherapy suites, and children's areas.
