It was wonderful. Dear Julia, I am writing this comment from Iran. Far far from you in distance but in soul I feel so close. I am reading your vein of gold and even with doing just 50% I have got more than I was expected. I am 29 and I have 23 month old baby boy. I have always struggling with my time, writing morning pages and go out for walking but I just want to insist on this way. The only tool that I have a lot of problem with is artist date. It has a lot of joy for me and it seems inside of me, there is some one hate to joy! God bless you Julia
PS: dear Tami, do you know that your voice is quiet look like dr Estes? I love her so much and your voice is warm like her

SCRATCHY If taking risks is about exposing ones self, it is indeed all very transparent. Julia Cameron has helped me with my own PENvy. The darkness is always impending.

Thank you for this wonderful interview with a teacher who has helped free my own creativity. The Artist’s Way changed my life, as I know it has many, many others….reconnecting with Ms. Cameron in this interview with Tami has reminded me to go back to that book and do some more exercises, and especially to remember to take myself on ‘artist dates’, for me, all too easy to neglect. Thank you again for this interview and this inspiring series on Sounds True….such a gift.

The Artists Way changed my life in 1998. After a MVA which left me unable to drive, a good friend took me to a class. We used the book and I transformed ! Writing poetry and making affirmations for my future, making gratitude a daily thing. I love this book. I love you Julia for your honesty, simplicity and integrity. Thank you !
I am going to re visit the book again this year 2011. :) Karen

These are some of the best interviews around. This one especially felt so dear to me because of Julia’s willingness to be vulnerable and admit how hard the creative life can be, despite what we imagine “successful” people are like. I intend to read her memoir. Thank-you for your all your good work!
