I just heard John say that children need the same thing that I heard David Schnarch tell you, a while back, that adults need – Connection and Autonomy.
I’d love to hear you ask psychologists like John what he knows and thinks about the therapy that Henry Greyson described to you for healing traumas or wounds, meridian tapping or energy psychology.

What a beautiful interview, this really exemplifies what powerful healing perspectives and modalities can emerge from a sensitive and grounded union of eastern spirituality and western psychology. This gives me hope for our future as a species when we can blend our highest understandings.
I love Dr Welwood’s calm voice and his compassion shines through.
So so helpful, much gratitude Tami

Huddling Well
Ken Wilber tells us that it is time to huddle together well with new rules for the gifted. Dr. John Welwood, who I believe is the psychologist to first coin the term spiritual bypassing, tells us that children need space and connection in order to thrive. They need the space to be themselves and the connection to feel seen, understood, appreciated, and loved. I believe that we continue to include these needs throughout our lives and that one of the reasons for the existence of this community is to help one another meet these needs.
In the old days this writer saw way too much of people trying to patch up their unwell egos by compulsively trying to belittle others with only negation, nay saying, and sometimes even unnecessary personal abuse. I pray that we have outgrown those less mature days and that we can help one another thrive so that we can come together to better serve a hurting world. If this is not a good, true, and beautiful reason for the existence of the integral movement then I am deeply confused.

Wow! What a very deep and insightful interview. I found myself just naturally taking notes. The message felt so complete. It was like the meaning of human life was explained. Two very important messages for me were: 1) hold all of my experiences in love, openness and without judgment. 2) I am painfully aware how inadequate I felt as a child (and adult) through my parents unconscious teaching guidance. Now, I can hold them in loving kindness. I am now a parent and this is my most important job, to bring up my child with greater awareness as to his through nature. This interview is a gift to humanity. God bless you both!

The “experiment of human existence”; the ” challenge of bringing love into the relative form, into all dark corners of our lives…it’s a beautiful path” thank you for this insight, I heard something that can heal and guide me to healing.
