When the great Indian saint Ramana Maharshi experienced great physical pain from cancer during the last two years of his life, he often explained: “My body is suffering, but I am not suffering.” How is that possible? American-born teacher Gangaji, who teaches in the lineage of Ramana Maharshi, says that our belief in our own suffering arises from a mistaken understanding about who we are.
