Stephen Aizenstat: Dream Tending
Tami Simon speaks with Dr. Stephen Aizenstat, the founding president of Pacifica Graduate Institute and a pioneer in the study of dreams. Dr. Aizenstat has explored the power of dreams using depth psychology and his own research for 35 years. With Sounds True, he has created the audio program DreamTending: Techniques for Uncovering the Hidden Intelligence of Your Dreams. In this episode, Tami and Stephen speak about why he believes dreams are not just conceived in our personal subconscious but are living expressions of the mind of the universe itself, how we can have a relationship with the images that we encounter in dreams, and what it might mean to say that the body is always dreaming. The rainbow is as alive as anything else we sense, awake or asleep. We bring the life to the forms we experience. The life of it, the essence of it, is what consciousness allows. Underlying the images in consciousness, is the vastness of all life. That’s how I am understanding it. Good discussion.

Stephen encourages us to keep our dream images alive and allow them to be our friends, supporters, and providers of direction and inspiration. I think it is always good to have more friends to talk with no matter how imaginary. We can ask such questions as; Who are you? Who are you to me? What do you want? What do you bring? I am looking forward to having such talks with my new friends. Thanks.
