You are weary, friend.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You are thirsty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Here. Drink.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You are hungry. Here. Take this.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A piece of bread.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A small bowl of soup.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

See how God has taken form!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is all I have but it will keep you alive.<\/span><\/p>\n

I will light a fire that will never go out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A sacred flame. Unconditional in its burning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To illuminate us in the darkness.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Oh. I see you are wounded.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bruised. Bleeding. <\/span><\/p>\n

Exhausted from the world.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You have suffered much, I know.<\/span><\/p>\n

Come.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Take off these dirty rags.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t worry. It\u2019s safe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There is strength in your nakedness.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Here. Wash.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rub this medicine onto your wounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Put on these robes, they are clean and dry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lie down. Close your eyes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I will watch over us tonight.<\/span><\/p>\n

Listen. You have not failed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I see new life breaking through.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I see birth. An insurrection.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The sharp edge of hope.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have no teaching for you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

No wise words.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I only want you to trust what you are going through.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To bring this fire inside of you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Until the end.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have known this pain. <\/span>Yes<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This courage to keep moving.<\/span> Yes<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This courage to rest, too. <\/span><\/p>\n

The sacrifice of the known world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Drop into the belly of meditation now.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The place you were always seeking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The vast silence at the Earth\u2019s core which is your own core.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Breathing into the gut now.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The throat. The chest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Irradiating the nervous system with unspeakable\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

tenderness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Flooding the body with soft, warm light.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Drenching the human form with divine love.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And sleep.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And sleep.<\/span><\/p>\n

I may not be here when you wake.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We may not meet again in form.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet I leave you with all you need.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Food. Water. A bed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A chance to rest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A touch of kindness.<\/span><\/p>\n

And your unbreakable Self<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n
