We\u2019re using body modification and alteration as a means to a positive emotional experience. But the means are always the end. As long as we use the mindset of body rejection, that\u2019s the only outcome we\u2019ll ever experience\u2014no matter how much our <a href=\"https:\/\/resources2.soundstrue.com\/podcast\/lama-rod-owens-finding-our-way-home-through-the-body\/\">body<\/a> changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When doing this exercise, please note that words like <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">beautiful <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">desirable <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">do not describe feelings because they are statements of someone else\u2019s perception of you. What we ultimately want is to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">feel <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">good in our bodies, not to be judged positively by someone. Whenever we want someone\u2019s positive judgment of our bodies, it\u2019s because we think that\u2019s the way we\u2019re going to feel loved, safe, connected, expressive, or happy. Take the shortcut, and just go straight to creating that feeling in your life now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Feelings are felt experiences in your body. Here are some examples:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Positive feelings:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> joyful, grateful, exhilarated, excited, aroused, peaceful, affectionate, inspired, hopeful, renewed, fulfilled, enchanted, delighted, calm, amazed, blissful<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Negative feelings:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> hurt, sad, anxious, timid, angry, irritated, afraid, scared, confused, fatigued, tense, numb, helpless, uncomfortable, embarrassed, ashamed, exhausted, depleted, grief, appalled, shocked<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then there are pseudo-feelings\u2014they\u2019re not real feelings, but reflect your judgment of someone\u2019s behavior or situation.
