Yogiraj Alan Finger is a second-generation yoga master who began a lifelong study in his native South Africa under the tutelage of his father, Kavi Yogiraj Mani Finger. He has spent his life studying the yogic traditions, along with the scientific study of postures, breathing, and meditation. A Western yoga master, Alan developed ISHTA Yoga, and also founded Yoga Zone in 1990 and Be Yoga In 2001.

About Alan Finger

Yogiraj Alan Finger began studying yoga in South Africa at the age of 16 with his father, Kavi Yogiraj Mani Finger, as well as with renowned swamis of the last century. Alan's father studied both at home and on regular travels to India, a study that would transform his own life and that of his son. From this early age, Alan has dedicated his life to an in-depth study of yogic traditions, and the scientific exploration of the exact blend of postures, breathing, and meditation that accesses human potential to the fullest and benefits all levels of being. Alan became a Western yoga master, and developed a form of yoga called ISHTA Yoga (the Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda). ISHTA Yoga is a style of breath-based flow yoga that incorporates alignment, meditation, and healing bodywork, and addresses the individual needs of each student who practices it.
