Love him - He was my Vipassana teacher in 1986 or 7 for hundreds of hours in connection with my job at that time.

Shinzen Young is my favorite cd-&-mp3 meditation guide. Sounds True offers this and another set of introductory guided Buddhist meditation sessions. Many will appreciate that his presentations are non-denominational. His voice is both cheerful and calming.

Excellent cd for beginners. Soothing voice. Easy guided instructions. This is my first cd on meditation and my favorite.

Good and well explained. Somewhat general. I would listen to it on an occasional basis.

What a disappointment. I can see why this has been discounted to $2.49. I can't even describe how bad the content is. As for the narration, I'll just say Shinzen Young's voice is more of a distraction than a help in achieving any level of meditation, and his delivery is simply awful.

I don't get the sense that he is teaching from any level of actual realization, but is simply giving out instructions from a manual that he has read.

Zero stars - don't waste your money. Don't even take it as a free gift if offered, seriously. Sorry to have to come across as harsh, but IT IS THAT BAD.
