The Dangerous Old Woman
Myths and Stories of the Wise Woman Archetype

A six-part series three decades in the making introduces Dr. Estés' masterwork.

Starting at: $39.00

Details

"Welcome back home again, all you dear members of the Tribe of the Sacred Heart … The old woman is on her way overland as we speak. Soon she will be here … with us all. Join us at the fireside of the Dangerous Old Woman, for myths and stories of the Wise Woman archetype."—Clarissa Pinkola Estés, PhD

Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés's international bestseller Women Who Run With the Wolves empowered millions with its “saga of the gifted soul.” But that was only the beginning. Three decades in the making, The Dangerous Old Woman presents part one of her masterwork in a series of six on-demand sessions filled with her signature stories, myths, and poetry—many told for the first time.

Join us as we meet the Dangerous Old Woman from across world history and cultures, including La Anciana, the Ancient One; the Midwife Exemplar; La Tejadora, the Weavers of Fate; the Juggler Women; and many others. Each two-hour session includes Q&A with Dr. Estés, and her special prayers of blessing over our creative souls.

Dr. Estés on this landmark event: “Though I myself find perils and challenges of age to be true, we must disavow the old prejudices about women and age. The true vision of the wise woman is one of bounty of love and age and wisdom. As she gathers years, like an ancient tree, she grows ever more arms, even more flowers and fruits. She is more rooted, more vast, more sheltering—developing her callings to be throughout life, maiden mother, medium, crone, elder, healer, teacher, artist, knowing woman.”

Depth of Wisdom is Boundless Review by Rose Kumar M.D.

After listening to this CD set, I know myself better! I have been a Dangerous Woman all my life. It was incredibly validating. I have listened to practically every audio recording by Dr. Estes, and I can confidently say that this is her best work yet! This audio series will inspire, inform, and deepen your soul's wisdom.

Her words are as if Nature Herself is speaking directly to you.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who is interested in soul learning and keeping their sense of knowing about the Life and Soul Process.
I am eternally grateful to Dr. Estes for this powerful work and for all the passion, time, and effort she has put into this for all of us. (Posted on February 3, 2017)

There are a number of free podcasts that promote this book by Sounds True. They were very entertaining and I listened to them before I bought the audio book. Every podcast made me more and more interested in the book in purchasing the audio book.
The book did not disappoint. I enjoyed how Dr. Estes told a story and compared it to nature and also psycho analyzed parts of it. My favorite story was the one about the vampire. "Where there is innocence and beauty, there is also a predator." These stories and Dr. Estess commentaries definitely provide words to live by. I suggest this book to anyone who wants a fascinating read and also to people who are going through a difficult time and are looking to make sense of the hardships that they face. I really enjoyed the Dangerous Old Woman series and Dr. E’s work. I’ve read Women Who Ran with the Wolves and had to pause many times, taking in each paragraph because something about those words really resonated inside. I found myself doing the same for this audio series. The stories were mesmerizing and so is Dr. E’s voice; she’s a great storyteller. I’ve found the knowledge and insights to be very meaningful to me. (Posted on December 10, 2013)

I have been thoroughly enjoying and savoring these recordings as I drive. The only downside is that I can't take notes! CPE's insights provide so much food for thought. I heartily recommend this to "women of a certain age". (Posted on May 4, 2011)

It has been a joy and honour to listen and study with dr e during DOW. And to encounter this amazing woman and soul-sister these months. Learning with her through DOW and otherwise has taught me more than all my training in 'shrink-dom' (though valuable that is). I thank God/dess for the vocation and purpose this dear woman has embraced...and indded for her herself. I look forward to part 2 'The Power of the Crone.' (Posted on September 17, 2010)

A splendid piece of work. This series is educational, entertaining, inspiring and more importantly affirming for the crone goddess who lives in every woman. I adore this work and it may be Dr. E's best! It is a MUST for every woman...young or old to hear and experience. (Posted on July 21, 2010)
