Details

Come to the stage between two worlds—come to the Theatre of the Imagination. On this six-part live performance series, bestselling author and beloved cantadora (keeper of the old stories) Clarissa Pinkola Estés shares the work of her lifetime: myths, tales, and poetry with the power to nourish and heal.

Contained within Theatre of the Imagination are the great universal themes—tales of loss and resurrection; of love and sacrifice; of the courage to survive—yet it is as if Dr. Estés is speaking only to you. With words that weave in and out of the interior and exterior worlds, she creates an amazing fabric of the purest wisdom—fought for, won, and preserved to teach all generations—that which is most worth knowing.

You will hear more than 40 original poems, archetypal insights, and dozens of strengthening stories from Dr. Estés's own family's oral traditions. Dr. Estés teaches that each story holds a key to a deeper self-knowing: "Stories cut fine wide doors in previous blank walls, openings that lead to the dreamland, that lead to love and learning, that lead us back to our own real lives."

Presented in her one-of-a-kind lyrical style, Theatre of the Imagination seats you in the front row at these performances of a lifetime. More than seven hours of signature stories plus earthy and wise advice, archetypal insights, poetry, and much more.

Six Healing Stories Include:

  • La Calavera (Godmother Death)
  • The Lost Mother Moon

I purchased Women Who Run With The Wolves the first year it was published and have used it as my Bible ever since. I have every one of Clarissa's audio books and two of her books, and I still become so moved whenever I listen to them. I have worn out the ones that I have and am getting ready to purchase replacements. I am hoping that she will put some of the older audio cassettes on CD's. I also hope that she will be coming out with some new works. (Posted on August 1, 2016)

Clarissa's wisdom, and depth is penetrating and transformative. She is one of the greatest resources for women wanting to connect to the divine feminine, and to their own power, strength and beauty. I am grateful beyond words for her ability to bring forth the full dimension of the Goddess in such an inspired and deeply healing way. I have all of her work and it has absolutely supported me in my own Self development and awareness... (Posted on January 11, 2015)

Clarissa, what an amazing ability you have to weave the old stories, pulling to the fore the threads of wisdom and dipping them deeply in soul, meaning and commonsense. You are my and my daughters favourite listening. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world, it is a better and more meaningful place because you do. (Posted on December 17, 2014)

Review for Theatre of the Imagination, Volume One Review by Jeff D

This is my first time hearing Clarissa Pinkola Estés. I must say that her mastery of the subject is both impressive and useful. More importantly, she is clearly a master storyteller with a real sensitivity for the more difficult issues she is introducing to the listener – love, death and revitalization. I thoroughly enjoyed the way she incorporated the colorful elements of her own life – poetry and memoir – as part of this dramatic presentation. (Posted on April 2, 2013)
