Ancient Tibetan teachings tell us that merely seeing an image of the Medicine Buddha or even hearing his name holds the power to heal. Now, acclaimed musician and former Buddhist monk Nawang Khechog invokes the blessings of this potent deity on his new recording, Music As Medicine.
Nawang is one of the few Tibetan musicians today who has received the blessing transmission of these teachings, and he shares them here with the outside world as a catalyst for transformation. He is joined by premier native American musician R. Carlos Nakai to create a cross-cultural apothecary of soothing melodies and healing chants to infuse this universal energy within anyone who listens.
With Tibetan flute, long horn, and overtone chanting; native American flute and drum; universal horn; and calming chants to restore balance and health.
"To produce original music with such soothing and tranquilizing qualities is rare."—The New York Times

The simplicity and clarity of this album is just beautiful.
I use it in my natural therapies clinic for massage and find it's uncomplicated style so very relaxing and soothing.
All my clients that have heard it just love it.
In gratitude to Nawang Khechog for this gift.

After listening to many options for relaxing, calming yoga music, I found "Music As Medicine" and ordered it. Since receiving it, I have discovered that it is not only great for yoga, but for creating a relaxing backdrop to the rest of my life, not just yoga. As a matter of fact, I have played it for middle school students while they are working in class and they have discovered that the calming tones have freed up their imaginations and brought them peace and serenity while they work, which is amazing to me since those are the most difficult children to reach because of raging hormones.
I highly recommend this cd to anyone wishing to feel at peace, calm, and serene. (Posted on March 30, 2014)

True "medicine" from this amazing Tibetan flutist plus fellow musicians/vocalists. I've played it for newborns, I've played it for the dying. It's good medicine! (Posted on January 18, 2014)
