Songs the Plants Taught Us

Luis Eduardo Luna

Indigenous songs for healing and inner exploration, recorded live in the Peruvian Andes.

Peru's Amazon region is the home of the last remaining ayahuasceros, shamans who utilize native plants and ritual songs to induce healing trances. The Songs the Plants Taught Us is a remarkable document, offering a window for our ears and minds into authentic ayahuascero healing sessions.

Recorded deep in the Peruvian Andes, this rare treasure offers a variety of icaros (magical healing songs), each possessing its own peculiar, hypnotic beauty. Floating melodies, native chants, fragments of the Catholic liturgy, and spontaneous rhythms elicit visions of a spirit world alive with animist magic.

Review for Songs the Plants Taught Us Review by Robert T

I would advise against purchasing this product since the encoding rate is at 64kps, which makes for a very difficult listening experience. This is a shame since this is a historically and anthropologically important field recording, but the quality is dire which means i would give this product a very low rating.

Until this is properly encoded, don't waste your money (Posted on January 1, 2013)

Review for Songs the Plants Taught Us Review by Tony Borthwick

Digital delivery just can't be beat for great service and customer satisfaction.
Great music, very authentic and real. No production enhancement, you feel like you are there in the jungle sitting with the shaman and the sacred Medicina. (Posted on August 31, 2011)
