This informative session introduces you to Ashtanga's classic postures, and clearly demonstrates how the flowing Vinyasa system works.
Yogi master Richard Freeman details the Sun Salutation and linking postures that make the Ashtanga series flow gracefully as they awaken deep levels of meditation within. Moving from standing to seated to finishing postures, the session includes a balanced, hour-long practice, based on the traditional Primary Series.

Outstanding Review by Linda
I had this series on VHS and this is the 1st I've seen it available on DVD. Mr. Freeman is an outstanding instructor of Ashtanga Yoga. He explains instructions clearly and repeats as necessary. He begins with an explanation of breath and the energy of Chi. Previously, I had only practiced Hatha Yoga and found this to be a great addition to my yoga practice. At least a basic general knowledge of yoga might be helpful, but certainly not necessary if one has never tried yoga. I highly recommend this DVD to any student or practitioner of yoga. Enjoy! Namaste. (Posted on April 24, 2016)
Review for Yoga with Richard Freeman Review by Hilary L
Thia ia a great video for beginners to start an ashtanga practice. Richard Freeman is a great teacher, his pace and instructions are good. My only complaint is the DVD will not play from the spot selected on the menu. When selecting to play through the session it stops between series of poses and you have to press play again. Review for Yoga with Richard Freeman Review by Erin Gallagher
This is such a comprehensive and beautiful yoga offering from Richard. I really am disappointed in the quality of the image during the video-- I know it is probably transferred from VHS, yet this needs to be enhanced to be of professional viewing quality. (Posted on August 2, 2012)
