The breath and body move as one in the Ashtanga Yoga tradition. This classical path harnesses the power of the postures to reveal the pure awareness, freedom, and depth of all that is yoga.

Now with The Ashtanga Yoga Collection, renowned teacher Richard Freeman masterfully guides you through this precise union of breath, alignment, and flowing postures as taught to him by master yogi K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India.

An indispensable resource for students of all levels, this boxed DVD set includes:

  • An Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga—foundational techniques that combine breath, movement, and meditation to help you develop strength, flexibility, and self-observation
  • Ashtanga Yoga: The Primary Series—nearly 70 postures to ignite your inner fire, and awaken your nervous system to its natural, vital state
  • Ashtanga Yoga: The Intermediate Series—a dynamic flow of powerful postures that create radiant health and joy, and spark spontaneous moments of meditation.

Downloadable version has very Poor video quality Review by Evva

Sorry to say, I was disappointed with the video and audio of this download...very, very poor quality! I downloaded it to both ipad and laptop with the same low-grade results; I had to go back to using the original set of cds (5-stars for video content) that was purchased a few years back.

Absolute classic. You don't need any other guide to first series, and the foundations teachings are clear and descriptive. You sense discipline just by watching - inspiring and deeply practical.

Great material but very poor video and audio quality thus ended up being the first poor product I have ever brought from this site.

Mr Freeman is a great teacher and a true master.
The explanations are clear and beautifully poetic.
I do think one should take classes with a teacher of the similar tradition prior or parallel to practicing at home.
With a good basic foundation the first part of the intermediate level became my daily practice.

Richard has a soothing voice that causes me to relax, even how difficult the pose is. I found his way of teaching beautifully detailed, with lots to learn and integrate.
