Made me feel depressed! Review by LW

Rating

Did not like this audio book. I actually felt depressed thinking about my depressive experiences. I did not connect with how that was supposed to be helpful. I did not feel uplifted, encouraged, or transformed by what the author was trying to say. I recommend folks just purchase a good Jon Kabat-Zinn book instead! (Posted on December 7, 2015)

As a doctor, I think this will be very useful for patients. Some great insights in the commentary, and the guided practices are great too. I don't have depression, but still found a lot of personal benefit. (Posted on December 1, 2015)

Great place to start. Instructive, clear, relaxing, created many ahhh haaa moments. Helped keep thinking straight, positive, separate thoughts from feelings allowing to deal with the thoughts clearly. That's the way it was for me anyway... (Posted on June 27, 2015)

It says not to use the book contents if you are depressed! Here is a quote: "Second, it may be wise not to undertake the entire program while in the midst of an episode of clinical depression. Current evidence suggests that it may be prudent to wait until you’ve gotten the necessary help in climbing out of the depths and are able to approach this new way of working with your thoughts and feelings with your mind and spirit unburdened by the crushing weight of acute depression. This is a life changing CD. I have been interested in mindfulness for some time and this CD has allowed me to give relief to my son who has been suffering with anxiety for a long time. I think he felt heard for the first time. The message is delivered in a very simple way. (Posted on March 14, 2014)
