From the moment we’re born, we adapt to the emotional landscape and unspoken rules of our families. We learn how to stay safe, get love, and maintain connection—often by taking on roles like the caretaker, the achiever, the peacekeeper, or the rebel.

Even as adults, long after we’ve left our childhood homes, these early roles and patterns can continue to shape how we show up in relationships, at work, and in life. They can quietly limit our ability to feel joy, speak our truth, or connect authentically with others.

This workshop with Dr. Jeffrey Rutstein invites you to explore these inherited roles with compassion and curiosity—not to reject your past, but to free yourself from the unconscious patterns that no longer serve you.

Through guided reflection, somatic awareness practices, and trauma-informed insights, you’ll begin to:

  • Identify the family roles that shape your sense of self and belonging

  • Recognize how these patterns show up in your emotions, body, and relationships today

  • Differentiate between your “role” and your authentic self—who you truly are beneath the old conditioning

  • Loosen the grip of inherited patterns that keep you repeating the same unhealthy patterns and emotional reactions

  • Reclaim agency and choice, so you can relate to others with greater presence, honesty, and ease

Here, Dr. Rutstein will blend decades of clinical experience with mindfulness, somatic, and other practices to help you safely explore how these early imprints live in your nervous system. You’ll learn how to work with your body’s responses to calm overactivation, soften emotionally reactive defenses, and expand your capacity to stay grounded and open.

As you unhook from these roles, a deeper freedom becomes available—the ability to show up as yourself, to set boundaries with love, and to cultivate relationships built on authenticity rather than unconscious survival strategies.

Are you ready to live, not as the role you once played, but as the loving and self-reliant person you truly are? We hope you'll join us!
