more from Nicolai Bachman:
I think Nicolai did a great job of summarizing what yoga is about. Living the worldly life causes dukkha, suffering. Much of this suffering is emotional and psychological in nature. This can provide us with the motivation to change; to do the practices of yoga and live the yoga lifestyle. As we do this our heart/mind field of consciousness tends to settle down and clear and we are able to be more happy and content more often. This can be hard to pull off in our Western culture that stresses almost constant craving, activity, and striving.
A huge number of people in the United States are currently studying hatha yoga. If these people also embraced the more Spiritual aspects of yoga we could have such a large scale transformation of consciousness that our very culture could begin to shift for the good. Thank you Nicolai.
