    Shamini Jain — August 20, 2026

There’s an elephant in the room anytime someone talks about energy healing, an elephant named Placebo.  For most of us, placebo means you got the sugar pill. It means...

Jasper Young Bear: Prophecies for This Time: When Moth...

Something is shifting in the world—and the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island have seen it coming for generations.

This week, Tami Simon speaks with Jasper Young Bear—wisdom keeper, storyteller, founder of the Medicine Lodge Confederacy, and member of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation—about the sacred oral teachings he was entrusted to carry, and why he has chosen this urgent moment to share them with the world. Jasper is the featured teacher in a new medicine film and four-part audio series, The Creation Story, available to watch and listen to for free at thecreationstory.co.

Join Tami and Jasper to explore:

  • The Seventh Generation prophecy—and why we are living inside its fulfillment right now
  • The Prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor, and what the reunification of North and South means for the human family
  • Why the greatest preparation for coming change is spiritual and emotional—not physical
  • The sacred laws woven into Indigenous creation stories, and what whole-to-part perception makes possible
  • The importance of forgiving the unforgivable—and how it opens the frequency of true freedom
  • Ceremony as living technology: sweat lodges, sacred instruments, and star knowledge as tools of consciousness
  • Why Jasper believes love—not systems, not ideology—is ultimately what will heal the human family

This interview is unlike most. Tami listens more than she asks. And what Jasper Young Bear offers is truly a transmission: a vision of where we are, where we’re headed, and what each of us can do to become a worthy ancestor for the generations yet to come.

E186: You Don’t Need to Rise—You Need to Release

Spiritual growth is not about rising higher but about releasing the inner attachments and conditioning that hold you down. Your suffering comes from resisting reality and clinging to preferences formed by past experiences. By accepting life as it unfolds and letting go of inner resistance, you access natural peace, clarity, and eventually transcend the ego entirely.

E185: The Truth About Acceptance—Why Resisting Reali...

Reality can be defined as that which has already happened; after all, no one can make it not have happened. Suffering comes from resisting reality rather than accepting it. But acceptance does not mean passively allowing harmful situations to continue; it means letting go of the inner resistance and stored emotional reactions to what has happened, and then acting from a place of clarity. By consistently accepting and processing experiences instead of suppressing them, one releases inner blockages and returns to a natural state of peace, love, and clarity.

Tami and Karla also discuss the importance of creating a community that shares an “emotional vocabulary,” the four keys to unlocking the wisdom of our emotions, and much more.

Andrew Holecek: Reverse Meditation

Your mindfulness practice worked! You calmed your mind and felt the deep, inner bliss that meditation brings. But, asks Andrew Holecek, what do you do with these beatific states when your world is falling apart? Where’s your meditation practice then?

In this podcast, Tami Simon speaks with Holecek about his new book, Reverse Meditation, and how we can move toward a more complete spirituality that welcomes all of our experience. Illuminating the four steps of reverse meditation and much more, their conversation explores: how pain and hardship can accelerate the spiritual journey; why mindfulness “sedates but doesn’t liberate”; the cultivation of “industrial-strength” meditation; repairing an adverse relationship to unwanted experiences; the practice of open awareness; bringing the unconscious into the light of consciousness; investigating our personal “super-contractors” such as anger, fear, or anxiety; shifting from reactivity to responsiveness; the OBEY acronym of reverse meditation: observe, be, examine, yoke; three attitudes for practice: kindness, patience, and curiosity; establishing the right view; the anti-complaint meditation; and productive thinking.

E119: Escaping the Pull of Ego: A Call to Liberation

The root of all human suffering is ego—defined as our personal preferences, desires, and resistance to reality. Consciousness—our true self—is inherently divine, ever-present, and unchanging. It gets pulled down into lower vibrations by mental and emotional attachments to past experiences. The path to liberation involves recognizing the futility of resisting what has already happened and the importance of releasing our stored blockages. Over time, this allows us to enter a state of joy, peace, and harmony with the universe.

E118: You Are Not Your Mind: The Journey Back to Self

The spiritual journey explores the fundamental question of identity—not who you think you are, but who you truly are: consciousness itself. Ego, the false concept of self, is created when the mind clings to certain events and forms rigid preferences, desires, and identities around them. True freedom lies in ceasing to store these inner impressions and letting the energy of Shakti rise unimpeded into a state of unconditional joy and well-being.

E117: The Real Work: Letting Go from Within

True spirituality isn’t about mystical experiences or lofty ideals—it’s about honestly facing and working with the reality of your inner world. The journey begins by realizing you’ve been reacting, resisting, and clinging to disturbing experiences, and then defining an ego that struggles to be relatively okay inside. Real growth begins when you start letting go of internal disturbances instead of learning to live with them. Through surrender, acceptance, and inner relaxation, you can rediscover your natural state of unconditional love and well-being. This is the real spiritual path—practical, grounded, and available to anyone willing to do the inner work.

E116: Doing the Best You Can: The Path to Liberation

Doing the best you can every moment with what’s in front of you is the entire path to liberation. Outcomes don’t define you; the inner growth you earn by showing up wholeheartedly does. Life is your teacher; just do your very best and what comes back are your lessons, not your punishments or rewards. Let go of goal-orientation and approval-seeking. Keep welcoming life’s experiences, and you’ll trade neurosis and control for openness, energy, and joy.

E115: Spiritual Evolution: From Control to Equanimity

Spirituality is inner evolution—adaptability to reality instead of struggling with the outside world because you can’t handle it. Begin by relaxing and releasing inner resistance the moment it comes up, rather than storing life’s events as past negative impressions. This will gradually harmonize your inner energy flow with the unfolding of life. Willful action, when needed, will come from a state of inner clarity, and over time, this elevated state will become a permanent state of being rather than a passing experience.

E114: The Third Way: Transmuting Energy Instead of Sup...

The essence of spiritual growth is learning to work directly with your inner energy rather than trying to affect it indirectly by controlling outer circumstances. When the outer world does not meet your preferences, your inner energy gets disturbed, and you either try to suppress it (which creates blockages) or reactively express it (which can cause its own problems). Instead, by relaxing in the face of the disturbed energy, welcoming it, and allowing it to rise and purify—the energy can be transmuted into spiritual growth. Practiced steadily in everyday life, this returns you to the seat of the Self, where joy is natural because the energy flow is unblocked.

The Law of Attraction is real, but it operates at a much higher level than merely to fulfill your personal desires. Michael shares some personal anecdotes and spiritual insights, which highlight the interconnectedness of reality and the power of appreciation versus attraction. True fulfillment in life comes from transcending your ego-based desires rather than trying to manipulate circumstances to satisfy them. E57: Love Is Not Found, It’s Freed

Love is not something found outside but an internal energy that flows through your heart when you are open and unblocked. Your past personal experiences and emotional defenses create barriers that prevent you from feeling love continuously. The key to unconditional love is letting go of these blockages, embracing openness, and allowing life’s experiences—both positive and negative—to flow through without resistance. If you learn to do this, you will find that true love is not based on the conditions of people, events, or circumstances—it is about removing the blockages you have put in love’s way.

E137: The Sacred Art of Acceptance

Reality is simply the unfolding of countless causes across time, and our problems arise when we resist what is, rather than accept it. Our minds become disturbed due to personalization, judgment, and the suppression of experiences we can’t handle, which results in inner energy blockages (samskaras).

Spiritual liberation means learning to handle reality exactly as it is, letting go of suppression and control, and allowing the natural energy of life to flow through us without obstruction. This leaves us in a state of clarity from which we can make decisions that are in harmony with life, rather than fighting with it.

E90: How to Stop Minding and Start Living

“Do you mind?” We “mind” everything, from traffic to childhood memories, and this habitual minding creates endless mental ripples that disturb our peace. Spiritual growth is not found through adding practices but through subtracting resistance, through relaxing and letting go of what disturbs us. Every moment becomes an opportunity to free ourselves by choosing not to mind, and over time this unlocks profound freedom and transformation.

E194: Witness Consciousness and the End of Suffering

People suffer because they view life through the lens of stored past experiences, projecting fears and desires onto the future. Because of this, they become trapped in endless cycles of worry, resistance, and fear. Our true nature is the awareness that observes these thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Spiritual growth comes through recognizing ourselves as the witness rather than becoming lost in what we are witnessing. Ultimately, liberation comes not from changing the outside world, but from learning to handle our inner reactions and remaining seated in the awareness that observes all experiences.

E73: Chit Shakti: The Unity of Consciousness and Energ...

What we consider the “self” is just a construct of experiences and thoughts we’ve accumulated and identified with, forming the ego or self-concept. True spiritual growth begins by detaching from this mental construct and discovering the witness consciousness within. The great yogis achieved this by going inward, letting go of distractions, and recognizing the source of consciousness itself. They discovered that pure consciousness is actually the same force that creates and sustains the universe, called “Chit Shakti” or conscious energy. By learning to release past mental impressions, one can awaken to their true divine nature, the conscious energy that is the basis of all creation and existence.

E180: From Ego to Freedom—The Path to Liberation

The personal mind creates suffering by making everything be about “me,” which generates fears about the future and attachments to the past. These stored impressions form the ego, which distorts reality and causes continuous psychological disturbance. Liberation comes from letting go of these patterns and practicing acceptance—learning to handle whatever arises without resistance.

E181: The Art of Handling Reality—The True Inner Wor...

Suffering comes from resisting and then holding on to life’s experiences, not from life itself. By practicing witness consciousness and allowing experiences to pass through, you stop creating inner disturbances. This leads to unconditional wellbeing, where you can handle anything that happens without fear or attachment.

E182: Stop Closing Your Heart—The Real Path to Love ...

The key to opening the heart is learning not to close it. The heart is very sensitive, and it closes due to stored past impressions that create a sense of fear and the need for self-protection. Thus, people seek external conditions for the heart to feel safe enough to open. But as conditions change, the tendency to close is still there. The true path to living with an open heart is learning not to close, by handling life’s experiences without resistance. Through awareness and practice, one can release stored impressions and live in a naturally open, loving state.

E183: The Impersonal Nature of Reality

The personal mind creates suffering by taking everything personally and forming preferences about how life should be. In truth, life’s events are the outcomes of vast chains of cause and effect stretching through time and space. Suffering arises when we deny the reality of these causes and resist the events that are unfolding before us, as well as those that have unfolded in the past. Spiritual liberation comes from learning to align with reality as it is and then working to raise it as it passes before us.

E184: Acceptance—For Everything There Is a Season

Suffering is not caused by external events but by our resistance to reality and our inability to handle what has already happened. Acceptance means acknowledging reality and our internal reactions to it, not through suppression, but through allowing stored emotional energy to release. Through this process, one becomes peaceful, free from ego-driven preferences, and capable of living in harmony with life as it unfolds.
