The Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program was designed to provide comprehensive training and practicum experience for applying the life-changing tools of mindfulness meditation in your own life and with clients, patients, team members, or the general public. 

By participating in this comprehensive online training program, you’ll:

  • Expand your depth and practice of mindfulness meditation alongside highly regarded and experienced mindfulness teachers 
  • Learn effective methods for integrating mindfulness meditation into your workplace, in your community, and in your personal life
  • Gain hands-on practice applying what you learn, so you feel confident making a positive impact on others
  • Develop a robust skill set for teaching and leading mindfulness meditation sessions, courses, and events in various settings

This program has both psychological and spiritual depth. It combines our robust online curriculum with teachings led by guest faculty including Bessel van der Kolk, Gabor Maté, Rhonda Magee, Lama Rod Owens, Richard Schwartz, and many more.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • Online video and audio learning—In-depth curriculum delivers new teachings every week, designed and taught by Tara and Jack.
  • Individual and group mentorship—Participate in sessions with highly qualified instructors to help support your learning, address your personal questions, and inspire growth areas.
  • Group practice sessions—Connect with your peers for feedback and support.
  • Practicum Experience—During your second year, you’ll engage in a Practicum of initiating mindfulness classes in your local area to share, demonstrate and gain confidence in your growing skill set.
  • Cultural sensitivity training—An innovative racial awareness training series is woven into the curriculum to support your capacity to teach in a wide range of diverse settings.
  • Two live virtual events—Join Jack, Tara, program Mentors, and guest faculty in virtual programs that include small breakout sessions, live Q&A sessions, and opportunities to meet other students from around the globe.
  • Business-Building Resources—You will be provided with practical tools and resources for creating a business plan and a step-by-step guidebook to design and implement a mindfulness meditation course.

Upon completion of the program, you will be certified by both the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley and the Awareness Training Institute. Continuing Education credits will also be available.

Jack Kornfield

About Jack Kornfield

Jack Kornfield, PhD, trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma, and India and has taught worldwide since 1974. He is one of the key teachers to introduce Buddhist mindfulness practices to the West. He is the co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society and of Spirit Rock Center in Woodacre, California. He is a husband, grandfather, and activist and holds a PhD in clinical psychology. About Tara Brach

Tara Brach has been practicing and teaching meditation since 1975, as well as leading workshops and meditation retreats at centers throughout North America and Europe.
