Learn to actually stay and work with the suffering of this world in an open, helpful way
Full Description

Tonglen is a meditation practice that allows us to cultivate compassion in our lives. The practice involves sending love to the world and receiving the suffering of sentient beings into our hearts.

In this introduction to tonglen, we hear a subtle and often surprising perspective on what it means to be of help to the world. Reggie discusses both the Hinayana and Mahayana approaches to compassion, explores the different energetic stages of the practice, and guides us through several sessions of tonglen. Included in these guided meditations are: instructions for working with the six realms of cyclic existence, an exploration of the meaning of refuge in context of tonglen, and a teaching on the warmth of awareness.

These talks were originally given during Meditating with the Body© and Dathün retreats held in Crestone, Colorado, from 2005 to 2007.
