About Angeles Arrien

Angeles Arrien, PhD (1940 – 2014) received her master’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley, and her doctorate from the California Institute for Integral Studies. Dr. Arrien's teachings bridge the disciplines of anthropology, psychology, and comparative religion, while focusing on universal beliefs shared by humanity. She lectured and led workshops internationally on cultural anthropology and transpersonal psychology at colleges, corporate settings, and personal growth facilities. Her books include The Four-Fold Way, The Second Half of Life, and Living in Gratitude, and her audio-learning programs include Gratitude, Gathering Medicine, and more.

A very accessible overview of the tasks of mid life. Filled with stories and metaphor to make the universal challenges come alive in a very personal way. Anyone who wants to deepen and enrich their journey at mid-life should use these CDs as a friendly, companionable guide. You definitely want the audio version over the book. Angeles' voice is an essential piece that helps interact with the elements of the journey. Bon Voyage!

I thought this book was lovely and it helped me to validate some of the feelings I've experienced for the last few years: we are meant to let go of past patterns and move into a different purpose in the second half of life!
