Full Description

Why do we eat? It's more than just a hunger for more food, teaches Geneen Roth. Your relationship with food is a microcosm of your relationship to being alive, and to your beliefs about trust, pleasure, deprivation, and nourishment.

Now, Roth offers listeners When Food Is Food and Love Is Love, a deeply spiritual culmination of her groundbreaking work since the bestselling Feeding the Hungry Heart. Here, she offers her first complete at-home course to break free from emotional eating through visualizations, guided eating and mindfulness meditations, and more. Roth helps us to understand the real issues of why we turn to food, and to experience the freedom from dieting once and for all.

Review for When Food Is Food & Love Is Love

I found Geneen's program to be transformational, yet quite challenging. You gotta do the work! It feels like the true path to relating to food, one's body and one's spirit.

Review for When Food Is Food & Love Is Love

At 58 years-old, after being an emotional and compulsive eater for all of my life I remember, and having given up on changing my relationship with food and my self- hatred, I have hope. It feels as if Geneen knows me intimately and has the solution I have sought for many, many years.

I love Geneen's advice, and her voice. The guided meditations on this program have been very helpful to me already.

One note of caution, if you do as I do, and listen to audiobooks while trying to drift off to sleep: sometimes the volume gets suddenly significantly louder (with exclamations, not errors in the audio), so this program is not great for that use.

Now if Geneen would just record some bedtime stories for me, that would be AWESOME!

Review for When Food Is Food & Love Is Love

I empathised completely with where Geneen was coming from, it really paralleled so much of my life journey with food and emotions. I found the course extremely helpful, and feel that I am catapulted into a new understanding of why I am as I am, and (more importantly) what I can do to move on out of this rut and into a free life.

this was the best talk i've heard on food adiction which i've had all my life. the meditation and visualzations really help calm the mind during crisis in dealing with compusive clinging and adversion.
