Drawing from 20 years of results in the field, this widely respected teacher offers the essential meditation techniques that have proven effective at pain management centers around the country.
Break Through Pain adapts the core principles of mindfulness training to a practical process that can treat even extreme, chronic pain effectively, possibly reducing the need for drugs or surgery. Step-by-step techniques taught in plain language show how to overcome internal resistance—the key to transforming physical pain into a flow of pure energy. Break Through Pain presents four complete meditation exercises which, with regular practice, can tap your mind’s own power to overcome physical pain.

Brilliant Review by Bronnie
An explicit and compassionate guide ... I have lived with chronic pain for 20 years and Shinzen's work, with his deep understanding of the benefit of pain as a deep cleansing of impressions, bindings of the limited self, which veil us from our True Self is brilliant. (Posted on January 18, 2016)
it works Shinzen's methods Review by Yvonne
Many years ago I had a pain that developed for no reason. It was a pain in my index finger almost unbearable. Using my hand to work with my "mouse" was getting almost impossible.
I tried many things but nothing. I then remembered I had Shinzen's cd program which I had not listened to. At the time I had no idea really what mindfulness meditation was either.
I listened to the cds and did it. The first few days nothing much happened with my finger, but something happened deeper. I can not name, but it was shift that, as I now see changed everything. It took about a week for pain to go away and I can say that what did happen is that the pain no longer mattered. This was back in 2003!
Anyway, Shinzen's practices are tried and true. He is a true master meditation teacher. (Posted on March 17, 2015)
