Profound, intimate, warmhearted, rigorous, transformational and inclusive program with many touches of lightness

The MMTCP program was all of the above. I never expected it would exceed all of my expectations.

The program is very well designed and sets each participant up for an intense learning experience.

All of the elements did their job. The small peer group (we still meet up), the guidance of a seasoned mentor, the structure of the classes, the literature, the practices that we did with and for each other, the countless very respectful feedback moments full of juicy learning, the practicums, the 6 month DEIA curriculum and of course all of the classes by Jack & Tara and the numerous guest lecturers. Come to cultivate the essence of life and bring it to the world: love, kindness and compassion.

If you consider joining the program: make room for it in your life. You won’t regret it. Buckle up and enjoy the ride! Or maybe better: unbuckle and bring your full self!

An unforgettable experience!

Love, Louise Kemps

Basic Meditation

The materials were good, but the teachings were much more basic than I expected. This program is designed for those who are going to teach beginners. The cost of the program didn’t provide the value that was implied in the course description.

MMTCP Cohort 2023

I thought the MMTCProgram was simply marvelous! I found it so wondrous to be in a global school with like-minded and like-spirited beings. It has truly changed my life and I continue to to grow with the lessons I learned and in my journey to share with others. I appreciated seeing its imperfections and how they were navigated with such kind awareness. I looked forward to the DEI component and noticed how difficult it was to meet with yet another sangha from different parts of the USA, my home country. I think I would have liked an opportunity to meet with people from my own geographical region just to have the opportunity to perhaps meet in person. My groups always ended up being with people who lived very far away from me like my mentor group turned out to be an international group with people in Europe and Asia. Although I greatly value my new-found friends, I am still trying to find some local MMTCP contacts. Overall, I found myself learning so profoundly from all the different speakers, especially our teachers, and just hope that I can carry this light to others with the same care and joy that I was given. Thank you! May you be well and at ease.

MMTCP certification

Greetings. I will use the feedback format.

On a positive note, I enjoyed the live broadcasts providing access to teachers with great wisdom. I was honoured to be part of this global community of practitioners and often felt held.

I was less satisfied on other fronts. The DEIA training felt hastily prepared and implemented. Early on, I raised concerns about a video where the Dalai Lama joked about farting. After I pushed, it was taken down yet with no explanation or apology for the hurt.

In addition,

Our mentor was amazing. I have great admiration for the mentor on many fronts. The mentor came across as distant and disengaged. Through the two years, We barely touched on the practicum. In my view, The guidance received on the practicum fell short. To my surprise, the second one on one meeting I was required to have with the mentor was turned into a discussion on group dynamics. An important topic, however, the one on one meetings were meant, I understood, for individual feedback. I was disappointed not to have more information on my progress given the alternate focus.

Our peer group didn't gel - we needed guidance. For me, this should have been offered separately from the one on one meetings, i felt that I wasn't fully granted this precious opportunity of feedback from a highly skilled mentor. The mentor rarely if ever answered email - this caused problems because concerns were overlooked. Eventually, I met with the mentor and senior staff to problem solve as the…

Personally enriching

The program content was very good. It was not overly demanding and I was able to complete all requirements while working full time. It was somewhat disappointing in that the course did not spend much time in ahow to actually create a new "career" in this practice. I felt like we did not get enough one-on-one time with our mentors. If I wanted to talk to my mentor about this, I had to spend more money. I already spent enough money on the course. Someone was making a lot of money. Was that Sounds True? Or the teachers. I don't think the mentors got that much money.

On another note, I found it difficult to find things on the online learning portal. There were some groups I would have participated in had it been easier. The portal was very difficult to navigate. Communication in general was difficult (between students).

Also, the DEAI program was a fiasco. I think they learned a lesson in assigning people to groups. That said, I'm glad they had the DEIA program.

That leads to something else good about the program. There was a pretty good mix of teachers from various racial, sexual and gender identity backgrounds. A little concerned that there were far more female-identity students than male-identitiy students.

Also, it suited me because, although based on Buddhism, it was applicable in a secular setting. I plan on reaching out to the non-religious community. All of the reading were written by Buddhists, but were not studies strictly of the sutas.
