About Ashok Gangadean

Ashok Gangadean is currently the Margaret Gest Professor of Global Philosophy at Haverford College where he has been teaching for the past 45 years. He completed his PhD in philosophy at Brandeis University and his early work focused on Logic (Science of Thought) and Ontology (Science of Being). Throughout his career, he has been on a quest for the primal integral logic at the heart of human reason, and to bring to the fore the deep dynamics of communication and dialogue between diverse worldviews. In this quest over four decades to clarify and excavate the common ground across and between widely diverse worlds, cultures, ideologies, and disciplines, he has emerged as a pioneer of the new frontier of global reason, global ethics, and global wisdom. The range of his courses include Philosophy of Logic and Language; Global Ontology; Global Ethics; Hindu, Buddhist, and Zen Thought in Global Context; and Global Wisdom.

My husband and I thoroughly connected with Ashok Gangadean's teaching. He offers an impressive overview of world philosophies and religions in a way that moves us forward rather than bogging us down. His concepts of "ego-mentalism" and "double brackets" are extremely helpful. We will be listening to the CD, Awakening the Global Mind, again. We have already discussed it with others and suggested that they too listen to the CD. We are interested in reading/listening to more by this engaging professor.

This is a very accessible reprise of Western philosophical traditions which explains and integrates ideas of Indian mysticism with quantum physics. I am interested in learning all I can on these subjects, and this was among the best I've heard or read.

Truly excellent academic work. The depth of Prof. Gangadean's experience is readily apparent. It exceeded my expectations. I listened twice, took notes, and gave it to a friend. She says she loves it, as does her son.
