Very aggravating practice CDs
I was very excited when I saw and bought this because yoga nidra was my first ever experience of meditation in a 2 hr x 12 week class more than 20 years ago. I loved it, it put me on the path, and it is not widely known or practiced, so it's very hard to find teachers, even on CD. But Richard's meditations are aggravating in the extreme. The Satyananda school I learned from ask you to quickly imagine contrasting images during the meditation, but Richard asks you to bring to mind whole scenarios - like, remember a situation in which you were angry, or sad etc - and then gives you only a few seconds before asking you to remember another, quite different one. That amount of time is not even enough to locate a situation in memory, let alone bring it forth to actually feel it. I felt like I was being pushed and pulled around in all directions in some kind of horse race that I could never get my bearings to even begin. I gave up in great irritation after 5-6 attempts. Definitely NOT recommended as a yoga nidra practice, though the book's ok.
