About Pema Chödrön

Pema Chödrön is a well-known and beloved American-born Buddhist nun and author of many spiritual classics. She serves as the resident teacher at Gampo Abbey Monastery in Nova Scotia and is a student of Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche and the late Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Very Comprehensive

After listening to these lessons, and working with the meditations, my son dropped the phone into the tub. He was in distress and said, "I'm sorry mommy!" I reassured him that it was ok, it was only a phone. He again, in distress said, "I'm sorry mommy! I'll never touch the phone again!" I smiled at him and said, "At moments like this, it is best to really just love yourself." He looked at me with a calmness of a truth being reawakened in him. Wish we all could get that message before 7!

Review for Awakening Love

Pema is wonderful. She isn't one of these "high above everyone else" gurus. She goes through the same issues we all go through and presents material in a sweet, loving, yet sometimes funny way.

I listened to this set while on my way to and from my best friend's house. My best friend was dying in another state. Pema's CDs helped to calm my Spirit, help me accept my feelings about the situation and lean into them. Listening to these eased my suffering from seeing my friend die. They are truly a gift.
