A 2-CD course on a Tibetan Buddhist practice to help you turn difficulty into insight.
Full Description

Within the wisdom teachings of Buddhism, there are many stories that refer to its founder as the Supreme Physician, a healer of all illness—mental, physical, and spiritual. The Buddha understood suffering and its antidote, and his prescription and philosophy for right living led directly to a Tibetan meditation practice that is the medicine our modern-day hearts have been searching for.

On Good Medicine, the remarkable American-born Tibetan Buddhist nun Pema Chödrön shares the gift of tonglen, a simple and elegant meditation system for ordinary people like ourselves. Through tonglen, we can use the difficulties in life—those that cause the most suffering—as a way to befriend ourselves, accept the past we have rejected, and widen our circle of compassion. These traditional breathing meditations cut through obstacles on the spot.

Skillfully distilled into a two-and-a half-hour workshop, Good Medicine offers a revolutionary practice that is already 1,000 years old—and ready to awaken our hearts today.

I give the program five huge stars! But just to let Sounds True know, I downloaded the program via the App program on my iPhone, and between tracks, the program would pause and then my Music app would take over and start playing the first song in its library. Since I was driving while listening, this was somewhat inconvenient, but, of course, since I was listening to Pema, I was reminded to see the opportunity in the "problem" and simply see it as time to reflect on the teaching with some beautiful music playing in the background. Just letting you know of the glitch in case you want to address it technically.

Blessings!

Review for Good Medicine

I recently was attracted by the work of Pema and it has already been powerful and uplifting. This CD set allowed me to start practicing Tonglen right away. Ms. Chodron has quickly moved into the ranks of a spiritual teacher that I listen to almost daily.
